What is the ZenPack Challenge?
Fantastic question, y'all! ZenPacks are customizable and extensible plug-ins used to extend the Zenoss platform. They use standard APIs and protocols, including SNMP, WMI, SSH and many more, to collect real-time health and performance data from any type of system or application.
The flexible, highly extensible ZenPack model allows the Zenoss platform to extend discovery, performance and availability monitoring capabilities to new technologies quickly. Zenoss currently boasts a catalog of more than 500 ZenPacks covering physical systems, containers, cloud deployments and applications.
And of course — epic bragging rights!
Eligibility Criteria:
The ZenPack Challenge is open to all developers around the world — including YOU! We encourage entries from anyone who loves developing software and taking on challenges.
What can I win?
The two finalists in each category will be given a scholarship to attend the 2018 Zenoss annual user conference, GalaxZ18, which is scheduled June 20-22, 2018, in Austin, Texas. While in Austin, the finalists will be able to showcase their ZenPacks and battle it out on the Partner Showcase floor in front of Zenoss employees, partners, customers and users.
The winner of each category will be awarded the 2018 Zenoss ZenPack of the Year award. Additionally, the finalists will be highlighted in the Zenoss ZenPack Catalog and the Zenoss blog as well as receive a unique badge on the Zenoss [Tech]Zen User Community that may also be shared on social media.

Submission Deadline: May 1
University
For students enrolled at a university looking to showcase their programming skills.
Submission Deadline: May 15
Your entry form will be submitted to our ZenPack Challenge team, who will then send you the Developer Kit and be your one-on-one contact for questions and support. Good luck!
